I've been having the same problem lately, but that didn't work for me. and even systematically going through most of the troubleshooting steps in. Simple as that! And I lost hours last night trying to figure it out.

This is what resolved the issue: Having inserted my DVD Video disk into my DVD drive, I simply right-clicked it in Explorer (“DVD RW Drive (F:) DVD_VR”), clicked "Open AutoPlay" in the context menu that popped up, selected "Play DVD Movie – VideoLAN VLC media player" from the options in the window that opened ... and that did it!ĭVD Videos and DVD Movies now open automatically when I insert the DVD discs. In the end, it turned out that I was trying to complicate things when the answer was actually quite simple. as well as probably trying other solutions that I’ve now forgotten and even systematically going through most of the troubleshooting steps in ĥ. I love VLC Media Player-but it got a bit tiresome having to manually select my local drive each time I wanted to play a DVD or audio CD. when 2.) didn’t work, trying the same in Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > AutoplayĤ. checked that VLC Player was selected for video player in Windows Settings > Apps > Default Appsģ. checked that Autoplay was turned on in Windows Settings > Devices > AutoplayĢ. I was having a bitch of a problem on my Windows 10 device when, upon inserting DVD Movies and DVD Videos into my DVD drive, nothing would happen except the wretched Microsoft Store popping up. Of course there are changes that need time to get used to, but so far everything is too "protected" or restricted for user point of view.I think I’ve found the solution to this problem. Now when I have used win 10 a month after belowed 7, it is just carbage. rar opens with 7zip by default.Įverything, I mean everything, is made just too hard and around "apps" with this new and shiny UI, but it seariously is made for idiots who can not change desktop background image without deleting C:/ drive. This 7zip problem I was able to solve by going to good old control panel (yey it still exists!) and there I had to go and choose default program by file extension. This makes this version on windows just carbage. It seems that NO programs that are not downloaded via Store, are visible in any option list of win 10. If VLC Media Player is not on the list, click Browse and browse to the Program Files folder on the hard drive and locate VLCs folder, choose 'vlc.exe'.-Click 'Always use this program to open this kind of file'-Click OK I hope this helps, if it doesnt, PM me and Ill see if I can help out anymore. rar and open with 7zip, but it was not visible in that menu. I have 7zip installed and I had to dig deep to get it open. I have VLC-player, Media Player Classic and whatnot installed so can I somehow determine with what program I can open DVD media? So I do not have to always open my preferred media tool before I insert the disc. Play audio and video (with "Media Player") 3. When I right-click my DVD-drive with disc in it, there is option called "Open autoplay.", but only options available are 1. The loop will start and play from A to B. Navigate the timeline to where you want the loop to begin.

I did just install win 10 "on top" of my win 7. Here are the steps to loop a video/audio’s portion indefinitely in VLC Media Player: Click on View > Advanced Controls. I previously had legit win 7 professional and I have loved it. Some background, I installed win 10 at last day of free update chance.
